The anglophone Spiritan circumscriptions in west Africa are marking the 25th anniversary of the setting up of the Spiritan International School of Theology (SIST), with a series of events from the 6th to the 8th of December 2012.
Founded in 1987 to give a sound theological training to our young confreres of the region and to give them a solid grounding in Spiritan community life, SIST has played this vital role now for a quarter of a century, and it is with thanksgiving to God that this milestone has been reached. As well as the liturgical celebrations, invited speakers will present papers on relevant theological themes ranging from inculturation in contemporary Africa, to the impact of globalisation on theological inquiry and from inter-religious dialogue to acc
ountability in Church etsablishments.
Congratulations and best wishes to all who have been involved in SIST over the last 25 years and we assure our prayers for another 25 years in the formation of Spiritan missionaries to serve the Church
worldwide. We hope to have a fuller report of the celebrations in the next issue of Spiritan News.
