Leaders of the world will meet in Paris for the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 21), from 30th November – 11th December 2015.
This pivotal meeting seeks to achieve a universal and legally binding agreement on the reduction of green gas house emissions, towards reducing global temperatures to pre-industrial levels of 2 °C. We are all called to mobilize support for an agreement that will favor the poor, and most abandoned to whom we as Spiritans are committed, and who are currently experiencing the adverse effects of climate change. As Pope Francis said in Laudat Si; “We need a conversation which includes everyone, since the environmental challenge we are undergoing, and its human roots, concern and affect us all.” Support our “Green Pope” and sign the petition to be sent to world leaders when they meet in Paris. Visit the Global Catholic Climate Movement website on http://catholicclimatemovement.global/ to sign the petition and take action. There are also liturgical and spiritual resources available on the above link.
