Mozambique: New Spiritan presence in the Archdiocese of Beira

Our confreres of the International group of Mozambique went ahead to officially launch the Spiritan missionary presence  in the Archdiocese of  Beira on the 16th February 2014. They are in charge of the parish of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary of VAZ-Beira.  The fathers Nicholas and Godfrey are engaged in that new mission with courage and enthusiasm. Apart from instruction and Paris pastoral work, they are also building a Spiritan residence for receiving guests and young Mozambicans who want to join the congregation. His Grace Claudio, the Archbishop of Beira, received our confreres with joy. At the inauguration Mass, he encouraged them to take to hear that new missionary project. For us, it is a true Spiritan missionary undertaking. The mission is located in the periphery of the town of Beira, where people of different cultures live. Missionary challenges are important. P.
