He was born in Sidi-Bel-Abbès (Algeria) in 1941 and it was there that he completed his secondary studies. He entered the Senior Seminary of Oran in 1960 and remained there for three years, followed by further studies in Algiers until 1965. After a year of cooperation service, he was ordained priest for the diocese of Oran in 1966, after which he spent ten years working with small Christian communities. Having spent some time as curate and parish priest of Aïn-Témouchent, he became the assistant Administrator in the diocese of Oran and then he was put in charge of the Diocesan Centre. He passed one year of renewal at the Institut Catholique in Paris, then entered the spiritan novitiate at Chevilly-Larue and made his profession into the Congregation of the Holy Spirit in 1988. With his great experience, he was asked to act as spiritual Father, professor of Church History and bursar.
He went to Gabon in 1988 and spent two years in the parish of Saint-Michel at Libreville, followed by 6 years as formator and bursar at the Spiritan seminary of Daniel Brottier. In 1996, he was appointed procurator of the missions in Gabon and bursar of the spiritan circumscription of Central Africa. In 1999, he moved to Cameroon where he was in charge of the Procure for the missions at Douala.
From 2002 until his appointment as assistant to the General Bursar, he was at the French Seminary in Rome where he was bursar for the seminary and procurator for the French Bishops. We wish him a fruitful ministry in his new mission at the Generalate. Baba Gaston.
