Fr. Anthony Alimnonu gains doctorate from the Angelicum.

Nearly all the confreres of the Generalate community made their way through pouring rain on the afternoon of Tuesday, March 12th, to the Angelicum in the centre of Rome. They were going to witness Fr. Anthony Alimnonu of the Province of Nigeria South East defend his doctoral thesis entitled “The Use of Psychology in Priestly and Religious Formation”.

He also had great support from other Nigerian priests and religious studying in Rome and this no doubt helped him to present his thesis in a clear and precise manner and also to respond to the questions put to him by the moderators. After the latter consulted among themselves, they awarded the doctoral degree to Fr. Alimnonu to the applause of those present. A reception was held afterwards and the day after, in the Generalate, a special aperitif was held to congratulate our confrere once again on his achievement. Our prayers got with him now as he contemplates putting into practice the ideas and insights he has learnt while doing the research for this doctorate. John McFadden.
